“just when i figured out all the answers, they changed all the questions”
- unknown

The quote above was on a poster hanging in our back entrance way for most of my public school years.  It was brought back to my mind today as I watched this video:

Looks like a pretty incredible piece of technology.  Released as this school looks to further our school-wide plan for outfitting each teacher with the technology and training to integrate SmartBOARDS.  I think that the price tag ($8,000 in the states) will keep it out of our classrooms here … at least until the bugs are worked out.

collaborative video making…

I remixed a remix, it was back to normal.
- Mitch Hedberg

One of the things i love the most about schools and learning 2.0 is the ability to take sources – mix, mix and re-mix them until you get what you want.  Then we give it to someone else and let them put themselves into the project and we can watch it start to take off…

I have a technology facilitator here that gave his advanced students the same 12 sounds bytes, 50 images and 10 video clips and set them loose in Adobe Premiere.  The results were amazing and as

individual as the faces in his class.
As impressive as the results were the students blog posts on the project.  They saw things that we didn’t nor wouldn’t have no matter how long we examined them – truly fantastic stuff.

Kaltura is new to me and i have only begun playing around with the free packages b

ut as someone that is big on video in education as well as collaboration…it seems like a match made in heaven

“Show time, Synergy”
-Jem & The Holograms

Did you see this last night?

OK, holograms aside last night was a remarkable night.  I will tell me son we watched president elect Obama over cheerios at six in the morning one day – and it is my hope that last night will mark such a turning point that he will want to know where he was.  The message was loud and clear – change is needed; however  there is an incredulous amount of work to be done, in repair of previous damage caused.
If and how it is accomplished will be the great story of our generation.

This is fascinating as an international teacher How the World Would Vote.

Obama Victory Speech – wow this guy is truly an impressive speaker (speech classes – use this!)

McCain Concedes – A model of grace in defeat, extremely class.  I won’t comment on the crowd however.  Judging by the comments on the YouTube post, i don’t think i was the only moved by Sen. McCain’s speech.  (leadership classes – use this!)

I had a principal once who opened an athletic competition here by saying, “we are here because we love the game and we love competition, and because we love the game and competition we love our competitors”  Both Mr. McCain’s and Mr. Obama’s speeches I thought showed incredible respect for each other and that principal’s opening talk came running to the forefront of my mind.

Here is Mr. Obama’s in Wordle:

I will be honest, this is not at all what i expected when i entered the text…leave a comment tell me what you see in this image.
